Product Descriptions & Condition: Every item we sell is vintage, pre-owned, and previously lived in by someone else. That means no two pieces are exactly alike, and natural wear is not only expected — it's part of what makes vintage special. We make every effort to photograph each item honestly, describe its condition as accurately as possible, and note any visible flaws, scratches, fading, or imperfections. However, because these are used items with history, there may be minor characteristics that are not fully captured in photographs or described in text. We do not guarantee that items are in pristine, like-new condition. What you receive will match our description to the best of our knowledge, but slight variations in color, texture, and appearance may occur due to lighting conditions during photography, monitor calibration on your end, and the natural aging process of materials.
By purchasing from Mrs. Huizenga, you accept that vintage items carry inherent characteristics of their age, and these characteristics do not constitute defects or reasons for return unless explicitly stated in our return policy.
Authenticity & Dating: Our team uses decades of combined experience to date and authenticate the items we carry. We provide estimated decades of origin based on design elements, construction methods, manufacturer marks, and material analysis. However, all dates and origin attributions are our best professional estimates and should not be treated as certified appraisals or guarantees of authenticity. If you require formal authentication for insurance or resale purposes, we strongly recommend consulting an independent, certified appraiser after purchase. Mrs. Huizenga shall not be held liable for any discrepancies in dating or attribution that may arise from third-party evaluations.
Vinyl Records & Audio Quality: All vinyl records are cleaned, inspected, and graded according to widely recognized industry standards. While we do our best to assess playability and surface condition, vinyl is a delicate medium, and sound quality can be affected by factors beyond our control, including your turntable setup, cartridge quality, and handling practices after delivery. Grades assigned to records represent our subjective assessment and may differ from individual listener expectations. We cannot guarantee the absence of all surface noise, pops, or clicks on used records, as these are often inherent to the format and the pressing.
Furniture & Structural Integrity: Vintage furniture pieces are inspected for general structural soundness before being offered for sale. However, vintage furniture is not designed to meet modern safety or building code standards. Joints, glues, and materials may have degraded over time, and items may require reinforcement, reupholstery, or professional restoration depending on your intended use. Mrs. Huizenga is not responsible for any injury, damage, or structural failure resulting from the use of vintage furniture purchased through our shop. We strongly recommend professional inspection before placing heavy loads on vintage shelving, seating, or storage units.
Vintage Clothing & Wear: All clothing items have been previously worn and washed. Sizing on vintage garments often differs significantly from modern sizing standards. We provide approximate measurements in inches and centimeters where possible, but we cannot guarantee fit. Buyers are responsible for comparing our measurements against their own or consulting a tailor before purchase. Fabrics may have experienced natural fading, thinning, or fiber degradation over time. Some vintage textiles may require specialized cleaning or handling. Mrs. Huizenga is not liable for damage caused by improper cleaning, alteration, or wear of vintage garments.
Shipping & Delivery: We take extraordinary care in packaging every item for transit. Vintage pieces are packed using museum-grade materials, custom-sized boxes, and protective wrapping designed to minimize movement during shipping. Despite these precautions, we cannot guarantee that items will arrive in the exact same condition they left our shop. Shipping carriers handle packages independently, and delays, rough handling, or environmental factors during transit are beyond our control. Mrs. Huizenga is not liable for shipping delays, lost packages, or damage caused by third-party carriers once the item has been handed over for delivery. We strongly recommend purchasing shipping insurance for high-value orders.
