{ Offerings }
The store is teeming with undiscovered favorites, furnishings large and small, old books with lovely covers, new jewelry made with vintage findings, a delectable kewpie doll with the bluest hair imaginable took up residence here once. Mrs. Huizenga has authentic stuff to round out your home, wardrobe, and bizarre gift requirements.
We price things to sell, and as such, the stock is always fresh. You never know what you'll find. Sometimes we cannot even explain what you have found. If we don't have it we have a great { wish book } and we'll try our best to find it for you.
{ Consignment }
We have been known to sell items on Consignment...We also offer Personal Styling Services. Generally we are looking for stylish, well maintained pieces from a broad range of eras. We are not purists and do not sell exclusively antiques, but we do prefer the pieces have a certain something that sets them apart.
{The Rules of Consignment}
- Items must be fully functional, odour free, mostly stain free and ready to meet their new owners.
- Consignment rate is 50/50.
- We accept stock through pre-arranged appointments on Tuesday and Wednesday between the hours of 10:30 and 4:30. Should this window of time be impossible for you we will do our best to accommodate.
- Consignors are responsible for delivering stock to the shop.
- In order to decide if an item is appropriate for the shop we request a digital image via {email}, or a conversation with mrs huizenga.
- Due to the sheer volume of fine folks who consign with Mrs. Huizenga it is the consignors responsibility to check in on their items to see if they have sold.
- In order to process payment for goods sold, mrs huizenga requires 14 days.
- Should you suddenly feel a little nauseous about trying to sell Aunt Mona's Hope Chest you are very welcome to take back your items with no penalty or questions asked.
- We try to be patient but from time to time we receive a piece that just doesn't want to be sold, if this is the case you will be given the option to come pick up your item or let us know and we will freecycle or donate it to charity. (I don't think you want it back if you got it out of your house, but do let us know.)
- A smattering of items Mrs. H. will not consign: beds, huge monster carpets, clothing (however we do purchase outright or offer a store credit for clothing) electronic devices, home appliances, video games. OK, listen, if it is a Commodore 64, I take that back.
