a wee tipple

a wee figurine of the local washerwoman. rosy cheeks and nose reflecting the harshness of the task and the lingering warmth the liquor offers.

hands too gnarled to display she offers up her smile and we understand.

alternative retail on roncesvalles

there are days when my street seems this exotic, very dr. caligari, but in a sunny sort of way.

in the fall it hums along and my neighbors change up their shop windows with heavier, shinier treasure.

we carry on at mrs. huizenga's. new boots. new scarves. the cherriest red leather jacket we have seen in quite some time. oh , but i do love it here.blue skies, smiling at me, nothing but blue sky, do i see

Mrs. Huizenga has a nice view on Roncesvalles.

Well folks, the steam roller of progress came through this week. Just in time for the annual Roncesvalles Polish Festival.

The avenue is looking tickety boo for dancing and eating and kids and dogs. A good time will be had by all. The dogs love the polish festival for all the sour cream and sausage that comes their way.

wait a minute, that may be why mrs. huizenga loves the festival too......how about that ?
