the keele corridor

over the past few weeks there have been some major changes in mrs huizenga's world. the new shop is up and running thursday to sunday from noon until six at 387 keele street. the sign is up and i routinely see necks snapping as folks turn back in their drivers seat to catch a glimpse of the shop, which i love.

i have a fabulous new neighbor in the corridor- russet and empire at 390 keele. it is run by the lovely micah and her trusted assistant oscar, he is one, but has some remarkable fashion sense just like his momma. i am so very  pleased to have such quality merchandise spitting distance from my front window display.

not that i would spit at my neighbor but things can get a bit kooky. only those who have done long stretches of retail on a rainy day would fully appreciate some of the shenanigans. some bartenders who draw the monday night shift would commiserate.....nothing like being busted trying on a dress which is so very much too small that it is impossible to get it back over ones head-both arms flailing in the air butt shaking cheeks flushing. just act casual, say hello and i'll be right with-rrriiiiipppppp-you the dress is forever destroyed, reputation tarnished and poor unsuspecting soul visiting your shop for the first time uncertain what kind of funk they have walked into.

i am pretty sure micah wouldn't do that, maybe visit russet and empire first and give me time to be presentable-i can see you coming across the road now must do something about the  poppy seeds in my teeth oh sweet jesus.
